Siri working on your older devices!
We’ve managed to get the fantastic Siri working on the iPhone 4 and have been told that this solution will also work on other older devices (but not the iPad).
This solution does also not require any access to the iPhone 4s keys as it does not use the Apple servers to process your request.
We were a little sceptical as many other proxy servers have arisen claiming Siri functionality and struggle when numerous users begin using the servers, however we’ve had great success using the method you’ll see below and speedy response times.
Process
1.) You will first need to jailbreak your iPhone, we accept no responsibility for you jailbreaking your iDevice, however there are great guides on iclarified.com.
2.) When you’ve jailbroken your iPod you’ll have to install the Spire application from Cydia and the Big Boss repository. This will take a little while to install as its a large package.
3.) Following the installation of Spire you will need to reboot your device and then install a security certificate. Go to http://connect.grwh.net/ca.pem on your device and you will be prompted to install the security certificate. Ignore the warning and install.
4.) When you have installed the security certificate you will need to go into your settings – general – Siri and turn Siri on. There is also one very important additional step here, you MUST change your language to English (us) or the assistant will constantly tell you it doesn’t understand.
5.) Next go to settings, scroll down and you will find the Spire icon. Open the setting and enter your proxy host as One of the following…
